Providing Enrichment Opportunities
For the Children of the La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District
The Pescadero Education Foundation (PEF) believes that the children are our future. We have been building upon this vision for over a decade. We are a completely volunteer organization that draws upon talented volunteers from within our community.
We are at a critical junction with public education. The California budget crisis has tapped into the financial resources that our state once invested into quality education. Funding for enrichment programs has been cut, year after year.
That is why we invest our time and effort into providing enrichment programs that allow the children of our school community to see the world through a bigger lens.
We do this by paying for enrichment programs that:
- Give the children the opportunity to make art
- Take exciting field trips
- Provide equipment for special scientific projects
- Participate in athletic programs
- Learn a foreign language
- Receive scholarships for college
Being part of a small, rural school district gives our children many unique opportunities to learn in a small, close-knit environment similar to private school. Every dollar we spend on school programs has a wide reach.
